Why preloved versus new crystals ?

a little bit about what I do what I do when it comes to crystal sales.

If you had told me 10 years ago I would be selling crystals as part of my business I would have laughed in your face. Why? At the time I had so many friends who already sold crystals and I felt I couldn't compete, and in all fairness didn't want to.

Then out of nowhere I had a friend with a huge existing collection who was looking to move it all on. Rather than give it all away I offered to see if I could move a few pieces on as I was in a couple of crystal skull groups at the time. The pieces moved ......and while I can't fully recall the entire conversation I offered to help move a bigger proportion of her collection.

1 car load later (and trust me there were multiple over the space of a couple of years) and I started up my Preloved group on Facebook.  Thinking it would be open for around 6 months while I found caretakers. It grew, and grew and grew as I allowed others to also offer up their preloved pieces (and still do).

I was approached by another friend with a large collection and that was that. Nearly 10 years later Preloved Sales Facebook group is going strong and I'm helping a larger number of people to move their pieces on.  We found/created a niche for those looking for preloved (second hand) crystals.

It's a strange niche in some ways and makes perfect sense in others . I'm not adding to demand for mining (which is typically done by hand or is a by-product for other mineral mining) or selling all the same things everyone else is. Many times its carves styles that have long been retired, unusual pieces and in some cases museum grade pieces that I have the honour of finding new caretakers for.

I have asked my own team many times if I'm still meant to be doing this and the answer each time has been yes. It's part of my bigger work in very subtle ways.

I'm now opening this website for those who prefer to browse away from the distraction that can be social media. To take their time and feel more relaxed, and less harassed. Trust me I understand.

I do still have the Facebook group and will continue to run both in tandem as for now it makes sense in my brain. 

Preloved for me is the way to go. I tried my hand at new crystals and it just didn't flow - preloved is my happy space.
